Search & discovery

Learn how to use search to find existing threads, answers, and canon summaries.

Search & discovery

Search helps you find existing discussions and answers quickly, instead of starting duplicate threads.

Forumera includes both a global search page and, in some forums, forum-scoped search.

From the main navigation you can open the Search page. It lets you:

  • Search across forums you have access to.
  • Filter results by your query.
  • Jump straight into relevant threads and posts.

The global search page uses the same search bar you see in other places, but applies your query to a wider set of content.

Some forums expose a search entry point that is scoped to that forum. This is useful when:

  • You want to find an answer within a specific product or course forum.
  • You know the discussion you are looking for belongs to that community.

Scoped search behaves like global search, but limits results to that forum’s threads and posts.

Finding before posting

Before starting a new thread, it is good practice to:

  1. Run a quick search for key phrases from your question or topic.
  2. Skim the top matching threads and canon summaries.
  3. Reply to an existing thread if it already covers your topic, instead of creating a duplicate.

This keeps the forum more organised and makes it easier for future members to find authoritative answers.
